Program The Bob Johnson youth hockey school offers one summer session in Aspen, from July 25 - 31, 2010. School participants will be divided into three groups with each group receiving three "on ice" sessions daily (minimum of 3 hours "on ice" per day). In addition, a daily video & lecture session will be presented by the coaching staff. Special individual instruction times will be provided for goalies. Top qualified instructors will help in developing and improving hockey skills. Daily ice sessions include Power Skating, Individual Fundamentals and Team Play. All players, regardless of ability, will see equal action in camp hockey games. Games will be played the last 3-4 days of the school. Fees - We are accepting applications so reserve your place now! Registration must be done in writing and upon receipt of tuition and completed application you will receive a written notice of acceptance to the school. Total balance is due by June 19, 2010. Tuition / Players - $ 575.00 w Discounts of 10% 2nd child/ or for teams/or AJHC or valley hockey assoc. (Combination of discounts is not allowed) Tuition / Goalies - $ 200 / no discounts apply. * Please contact BJHS (970) 920-5141 for more information. Make all checks payable to the City of Aspen and mail the application to: Johnson Hockey School It is required that all participants be at least seven years of age (as of 7-22-2010) and have one year of organized hockey experience. All players are to be fully equipped as prescribed by USA HOCKEY regulations. Don’t forget to bring a helmet with full facemask, internal mouth guard, practice jersey and a lock. All requests for cancellations must be made in writing! A $25.00 cancellation fee will be charged to cover administrative costs. No refunds will be issued after June 25th, 2010 and you will lose your tuition. Housing is not provided by the Hockey School, however, accommodation information and reservations can be obtained from the Aspen Chamber Resort Association. Their Central Reservation Service and Visitors Information Bureau numbers and Addresses are listed below. Camping is available in the Aspen area. The U.S. Forest Service maintains several campgrounds in the area with some offering reservations. There is also Aspen Basalt Campground located 18 miles west of town.
